The aim of this paper is to offer some preliminary reflections on how transnational minority coalition-building has developed in Europe over the past one hundred years, through a longitudinal case study of two non-governmental organisations – the present-day Federal Union of European Nationalities (established in 1949) and the European Nationalities Congress of 1925-1938.
