Deaf Americans of <span class=\"l6\">the time artic<span class=\"l6\">ulated a discourse <span class=\"l6\">of co-equality, seeking to <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"a\">participate in s<span class=\"l6\">ociety as Deaf<span class=\"l6\">\u2014 and as deaf\u2014 people.
